A multi-sensory marine experience combining science, story, and sustenance intended to immerse you in the depths of your connection to the natural world.

Our Seafood Stories experiences are curated as guided meditations thru the wonders of marine habitats, the species, food systems, and communities supported by these salty waters, and their lessons on harmony and balance in uncertain waters.

Along the journey we’ll dip our feet into critical conservation topics, ways we can be in reciprocal relationship with our marine ecosystems, and offerings of oceanic community strategies to urgently address the socio-environmental injustices impacting global ocean communities.

Oyster Tastings

Learn how to shuck oysters and train your palate to taste the sea. Like wine, each oyster variety has a signature taste that reflects the environment in which they are grown showcasing an exquisite balance of savory, sweet, salty, and mineral notes. In the wine world we call this terroir, and in the oyster world we call this merrior. Merroir will vary by oyster growing location and is influenced by the currents, tides, mineral content in the sea floor, algae species in the area, rainfall, temperature and season.  

Our seafood experts will lead you through this guided tasting experience helping you develop your tastebuds to detect the provenance showcased by four oyster varieties. One dozen oysters and an oyster tasting guide included.

Seafood can be intimidating to even the most skilled home chefs. There are so many things to consider when buying seafood from quality, season, sustainability, species, wild vs farmed, fresh vs frozen. One bad experience can make you swear off cooking seafood at home for good.

School of Fish is meant to help you navigate all this uncertainty with confidence. Our workshops teach you seafood skills that empower you to make delicious meals at home and teach you seafood culinary secrets for you to show off at your next dinner party.
